Fair Market Value for Car Donation

A car donation is a good quality to aid folks in want, as it involves donating your car to charitable trust through car donation services that make the donation simple and suitable by managing all the linked responsibilities, from selecting up your car to the essential rules and regulations. To recompense benevolent contributions, the government offers a tax assumption provided that contributions are classified tax assumption charity. In the precedent, a tax assumption was according to the fair market value of the donated car and, the government institutes those people’s second-hand car donations for the exclusive intention of enjoying a tax deduction. And the result was that the fair market assessments were not at all times perfect. These principles measured just the construct and mold of the car, and did not think about the car’s depreciated condition. As a result the coarse sum of the donated car did not counter part the fair market value and the tax presumption were of distended rate. To accurate this, the central legislation governing car tax presumption donations was revised in2005.

Car donation services generally vend your donated cars at auctions. The sum of the earnings is what is known as the coarse sale total. The reasonable market price of your donated car is the rate that you and the car donation services concur upon. If the amount of the donated car is beyond $500 it can be used as a tax deduction according to the car tax deduction donations legislation, though it is not restricted to the coarse sale amount. A total corresponding to the reasonable market price of the donated car can be used as a tax assumption provided that two situation meet.

When the car is honestly used to donate for a deprived person or people, or charitable institutions, in such cases also the fair market value of the donated car can be used as the tax presumption.

Boycotting Northside? Use Bushwick Car Service

Some Williamsburg residents are attempting to boycott Northside Car Service after a driver sped away from an accident he caused — a last straw for some, and just one of several ongoing problems the community has with the company. I’d like to suggest an alternative, for those observing the boycott, and for those in Bushwick who aren’t yet familiar: Bushwick Car Service.

These guys have been driving around Brooklyn for decades, and it is an incredible luxury to collapse into the back of a cushy Town Car and mumble an address, and have the driver ask for directions not 17 times, but ZERO times. They pick up at the airport, too. Forget Northside — our first call when we need a ride home from Williamsburg is Bushwick Car Service. No matter where we are, the dispatcher barks, “six minutes.” It’s usually less.

Sometimes you get a yakky driver revealing a few too many details, but usually they are quiet and courteous. No matter what kind of driver you get, you always end up at your destination without much hassle.

Auto Insurers Fail to Catch Most New Shopper

On average, auto insurance companies quote and successfully sign only two percent of all auto insurance shoppers, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Insurance Escaped Shopper Study.

The study finds that 36 percent of auto insurance customers have actively shopped for a new insurer in the past year but these shoppers ignored key insurance brands when they shopped.

The study examines the behaviors of auto insurance customers who recently shopped for a new insurance company. The study, which aims to better understand why shoppers either avoided, ignored or considered but did not purchase from insurance companies, also profiles 26 of the largest personal auto insurers in the United States.

On average, 38 percent of shoppers do not recognize various insurance companies examined in the study, while an additional 39 percent of shoppers ignore certain companies during their shopping process, completely excluding them from their consideration set. Additionally, 6 percent of shoppers avoid the average insurance company and indicate that they would never consider them for their insurance needs. Overall, only 18 percent of prospective customers consider any given insurance company when they shop.

The study also finds that most prospective customers who consider an insurance company but do not request a quote gather information via the Internet, with more than 60 percent visiting the insurance company’s Web site or responding to an Internet advertisement or blog posting. Insurance companies lose more prospective customers, on average, through the Web channel compared with telephone and in-person sales channels. In fact, traditional phone and in-person sales channels achieve a 52 percent close rate, on average, while online channels successfully close sales less than 20 percent of the time.

The 2008 Insurance Escaped Shopper Study is based on responses from more than 8,400 auto insurance shoppers. The study was fielded in April 2008.

HotRodWatches.com produced by the car guy

Tubbs is a car guy, always has been for as long as he can remember. His dad, Don Tubbs, was a car guy before him. Growing up in Los Angeles area, the automobile capital of the world, Danny was exposed at an early age to all sorts of glorious cars. From the age of 3 he can remember hanging out in the garage watching his dad work on a 1933 Ford 2-door Sedan. The sights and smells of hot rods have been ingrained in Danny’s spirit from an early age.

HotRodWatches.com-1HotRodWatches.com-2Now years later Danny has two cars of his own, a 1954 Cadillac and a 1961 Impala. He bought both cars in rough condition and spent time building them just how he wanted them. The 1954 Cadillac is now a beautifully restored jet-black 62 Series that is a real head turner, and the 1961 Impala has been transformed into an “Old School” Surfer, Hot Rod, Muscle Car with big and little rubber, Centerline rims, extreme rake, dual antennas and Flowmaster dual exhaust with just the right sound. His dad still has the ‘33, along with an award-winning navy blue 1936 Ford 4-door Sedan and an awardwinning bright yellow ‘23 T-Bucket.

For Christmas of 2006 Danny was looking for a specific gift for his dad–a Hot Rod on a watch. He just couldn’t find what he wanted anwhere. That’s when the light went on and he decided he could design, market and sell a gift item that he and other car guys would truly want. That’s when HotRodWatches.com was born!

Danny designs the watch faces using actual pictures of cars from car shows. He currently has over 100 watch designs on HotRodWatches.com and will continue to add more as the company grows. He also offers a service to design a custom watch from a photo of a hot rod or classic car provided from the customer. He’ll enhance chrome and paint jobs, get rid of background, and clone out dents, scratches or reflections. He’ll also stylize a car slightly to give it an almost illustrated look. He is truly a master at this type of work. All this for a very reasonable price. HotRodWatches.com makes a great gift for the car enthusiast in any family.

California. Regular Watch Price: $39.99 + $8.99 S&H; Custom Watch Price: $49.99 + $8.99 S&H.

Security While Traveling By Car

Topics: beltoutlet coupon code, Beaches Resorts coupon codes, Best Western online coupons

Some people have a clouded view on how safe they are when they are traveling in their own vehicles. They do not take into account the things that might affect their safety and security during their trip by car. Some travelers feel very secure in their sturdy automobiles, especially when they are traveling at 70-miles-per hour.

Some travelers take few safety precautions when they travel. They feel that they need no further security than they have by locking their doors in the car while traveling. They might not think about how people lurk in the shadows at rest stops and who might be in the back seat when they return after being gone for a few minutes time.

Some car manufacturers have taken this security risk to heart and equipped key remotes with a signal that will alert drivers to an intruder’s heartbeat long before they reach their car which gives them plenty of time to avoid a disaster in the making. Other people install additional car alarms to keep intruder’s out of their vehicle, even when it is parked safely in the driveway at home.

Most travelers rely on the hotel security system to keep them safe when they sleep overnight at their hotels while traveling by car. They might think for a brief moment that they are safe while parking their car too in the large parking lots with security cameras in full operational mode, until someone jumps them a few feet from the entrance to the building. Most people make it a point to unload at the front of the building and to take the time to review their surroundings before they leave their vehicle.

Some people trust the hotel staff to clean their rooms and to bring them extra towels when needed throughout the night. Some travelers might not choose to use the safety features inside their rooms before opening the door to someone in a maid uniform. Many people have lost their lives over trusting those on the other side of their door who they expected to be there. Using the steel door jam to view the person who knocks would save quite a few lives.

Some people might not think twice about leaving their hotel check-in receipts in their luggage while they go sight-seeing. There should be no problems with the integrity of the hotel staff but since the turnover of personnel is high in the hotel industry, some people might not be trustworthy. There have been several occasions of identity theft where travelers were robbed of their credit card numbers from the information that they provided to the clerk at the counter when they checked into a hotel.

Mom Gives Birth in Car, Names Baby After Car

Mom says Toyota Camry’s are ‘Good for Everything — Including Childbirth’

By: Sara Lacey

Babies are born every day; babies are born in cars, well, not as often. But it’s unusual that a mom praises the car she just gave birth in.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Leslie Russell’s contractions started out as mild and sporadic. Anyone who’s had more than one kid knows that’s the only warning you’re gonna get most of the time. Twelve hours later, Leslie’s contractions got going, and they got going quickly. Leslie’s mom drove her to the hospital just in time for Leslie to have the baby in their Toyota Camry’s front seat. Fortunately, a pediatrician hopped into the front seat to help deliver the baby safely.

The best part of this story though, is Leslie’s quote: “I said, ‘I can’t have a baby in the car!’ But apparently you can because Toyota’s are really reliable vehicles. They’re good for everything — including childbirth.”

And the baby? She’s a healthy little girl named Claire Camryn Russell Vincent — Camryn is a tribute to her birthplace. Congratulations to Leslie, Claire Camryn and Toyota!

Have you given birth to a baby in your car? If so, share your stories with us in the comment section below. Or send your story and a photo of the baby to editor@motherproof.com.

There’s Room for Everyone in Grandma’s Dodge Caravan!

Cars 4 Causes® Car Give-Away Program has made a huge difference in Linda’s family life. Linda is caring for her six grandchildren and needed a way to transport all of them together.

The request for help came from Kaiser Permanente explaining that taking over the care of these children was a surprise and Linda didn’t have much time to prepare or make arrangements. She simply knew that her grandchildren needed her, so she accepted the task.

Cars 4 Causes® responded to this need with a 1998 Dodge Caravan which can accommodate everyone.

Linda picked up the mini van at Cars 4 Causes® on Tuesday accompanied by some of her grandchildren, who were happy and excited about the new car. Executive Director Pat Jessup revealed that she had a previous recipient lined up for the van, but it wasn’t the right match to meet her needs, “I got the call about Linda right after hanging up the phone with the other person, and thought, this van must be for her.”

We are so pleased to have been instrumental in making a difference to Linda and her family with this car donation.

Dodge Caravan Give Away

DIY Hurricane Auto Security System

Basic materials that you will need for this project are as follows.

1) One beloved mid-90’s American made auto.
2) One area rug or piece of remnant carpet to protect the paint job of said auto.
3) One length of garden hose in good condition.
4) One sturdy, hopefully hurricane proof, tree.

I think based on the materials list above and the diagram provided below you should be able to complete this project without any further instruction.
